The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday accorded sanction to the constitution of district development commissioner-led panels for achieving 100 percent saturation of toilets, drinking water and electricity in government schools.

As per an order, chief education officer of the concerned district and executive engineers of the public health engineering, power development department and school education department, shall be the members of the committees.

The committees, the order said, shall access the deficient schools on the minimum requirement basis and prepare detail project report(s) for the purpose, monitor the works executed by different agencies i.e. PHE, PDD and engineering wing of the school education department and ensure completion of works by February 28th, 2019 and work out requirement of additional funds for providing electricity, drinking water connections to the schools.
