Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two militant accomplices allegedly involved  in the killing of sub-inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir on October 28.

A police spokesperson said the duo have been identified as Ansar-ul-Haq of Tikken Pulwama and Syed Saika Amin of Pulwama.

The vehicle used for the commission of crime has also been seized by police, he said.

“Investigation into the case revealed that they were in touch with the militants of HM and had hatched a conspiracy for the commission of crime,” he said.

The spokesperson said the slain militants Liyaqat Ahamd Wani and Wajid-ul-Islam Wani, who were involved in the officer’s killing were killed recently in an encounter at Pulwama.

“Further investigation of the case is going on,” he added.
