Zelensky in London to hold key talks
New Delhi, Dec 8: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London on Monday to discuss the latest peace proposal aimed at ending the war.
The BBC reported that the plan was drafted last week during negotiations between Ukrainian and US officials in Florida, marking the most recent diplomatic attempt to break the deadlock.
On Sunday night, US President Donald Trump said Ukrainian negotiators “love” the new proposal, but criticised Zelensky for not yet reviewing it.
“I have to say that I’m a little bit disappointed that President Zelensky hasn’t yet read the proposal, that was as of a few hours ago,” Trump said.
As Trump made his remarks, Zelensky told reporters he would be briefed by his negotiating team, stressing that “some issues can only be discussed in person”.
