Yudhvir Singh Charak shines, bags MoM in J&K’s win over Mumbai
Srinagar, Jan 25: In a thrilling encounter, Jammu & Kashmir stunned defending champions Mumbai with a 5-wicket victory, with an outstanding performance by the J&K’s pace battery and batters.
However, the all-round performance from Yudhvir Singh Charak was awarded as the Player of the Match for his crucial contributions with both bat and ball, leading J&K to their second-ever win over Mumbai.
Yudhvir's standout performance came with the ball, where he wreaked havoc across both innings. In the first inning, he put in a fiery spell, dismissing key Mumbai batters including Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Shams Mulani, and Mohit Avasthi.
He finished with bowling figures of 8.2 overs, 2 maidens, 31 runs, and 4 wickets, maintaining an economy rate of 3.7.
In the second inning, Yudhvir continued his dominance, claiming the big scalp of Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma, who was threatening to take the game away. He followed that up with the wickets of Jaiswal and Tanush Kotian, crucially breaking Mumbai’s momentum. Yudhvir also made his presence felt with the bat, playing a vital cameo. He scored 20 runs off 21 balls, which included 2 boundaries and a towering six, finishing with an impressive strike rate of 95.
