YSS Ganderbal continues trekking drive

Ganderbal, Dec 2: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal conducted Day 3 of the District Level Trekking Expedition for Boys. The day recorded strong energy, steady participation and focused discipline from all trekkers.

As per a statement issued by DYSS, the students started from the Base Camp Pahalgam and moved through the Pahalgam Zoo and the Golf Course. The route helped the students observe local wildlife and landscape. The activity helped the students build endurance, teamwork and leadership.

The programme ran under the supervision of DYSSO Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal. His planning and field monitoring supported smooth conduct of the camp across all days.

The students interacted with Mount Everester Mehfooz Illahi and a senior instructor from the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports. Mehfooz Illahi shared his work, his training experience and his early challenges. The interaction motivated the trekkers to pursue sports with commitment.

The participants reported high motivation at the end of the trek. Many students shared that the camp improved their confidence and physical readiness.

The department acknowledged the contribution of all field officials who managed Day 3 operations and ensured safety and order.
