YSS Dept committed to competitive sporting culture: DG Tara
Srinagar, May 20: In a strong reaffirmation of the government's commitment to sports development, Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, has underlined the crucial role of grassroots-level talent identification in shaping the future of sports in the Union Territory.
In a statement, emphasising the department’s focus on nurturing young athletes, Tara lauded the tireless efforts of the field staff in scouting and mentoring student players across Jammu and Kashmir.
“As the Director General of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, I am delighted to emphasise the paramount importance of identifying and nurturing sports talent at the grassroots level,” Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, said.
He said that their department was committed to fostering a culture of excellence in sports and believed that the foundation of this excellence lies in recognising and developing the potential of our young athletes.
“Our field staff, comprising dedicated professionals, work tirelessly to scout and channelise sports talent among student players across the Union Territory. Through their relentless efforts, we are able to identify and nurture young athletes who demonstrate exceptional potential,” he added.
Tara added that they recognise that every talented young athlete deserves the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential. To this end, their department was committed to providing every facility and support necessary to help them succeed.
“We believe that by investing in our young athletes, we are not only shaping the future of sports in Jammu and Kashmir but also contributing to the overall development of our youth,” Tara added.
He added that their department will continue to work tirelessly to identify, develop, and support young athletes who possess the talent, dedication, and passion to excel in their chosen sports and that by doing so, they aim to create a sporting culture that promotes excellence, inclusivity, and healthy competition.
