Youth showcase talent at Ganderbal-Bandipora Roll Ball Championship

Ganderbal, Aug 19:  The District Roll Ball Championship, organised by the District Ganderbal and Bandipora Roll Ball Associations, concluded successfully at the Physical College Gadoora, Ganderbal.

The two-day event, held from August 17 to 18, brought together nearly 100 young athletes from various schools across both districts.

The championship kicked off with an opening ceremony on August 17th, attended by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed and Irfan Hussain, Professor and Lecturer respectively at Physical College Gadoora. Their presence set an encouraging tone for the event.

Throughout the championship, boys and girls showcased their skills and passion for Roll Ball, reflecting the sport's growing popularity in the region. The closing ceremony on August 18 was graced by Chief Guest Surjeet Kumar Sharma, CEO of Ganderbal, and Guests of Honor Ishfaq Khan, Principal of Hilltop School, and Rahil Shafi, Incharge of Indoor Stadium Sephora Ganderbal.

Officials M. Shafi, Showkat Wani, Basit Reshi, Farmaan Farooq, and Sunhaira Nazir ensured the smooth conduct of the event. CEO Ganderbal Surjeet Kumar awarded certificates, medals, and trophies to participants, guests, and officials, recognizing their hard work and achievements.

The championship has highlighted the potential of local youth and reinforced the importance of sports in character building, discipline, and unity. Its success sets a strong foundation for future Roll Ball events in the region.
