Youth playing cricket dies due to electrocution in Banhial
Ramban, Nov 30 : A 22-year-old youth died due to electrocution while playing cricket in a local playground at Hergam, Chambalwass area of Banihal Thursday evening.
Police sources said Police Station Banihal received information that a 22-year-old Abrar Afzal Sohil son of Mohammad Afzal Sohil resident of Chamalwas Banihal, who was playing cricket at Chamalwas received an electric shock and died on the spot.
His body has taken to Sub District Hospital Banihal by locals, where doctors declared him dead. After conducting postmortem and other legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed to the legal heirs for last rites, said a police official.
SHO Police Station Banihal Mohammad Afzal Wani confirmed the incident and said an inquest proceeding under sections 174 CrPc has been initiated at Police Station Banihal for further investigations.
Meanwhile, locals demanded an impartial inquiry to ascertain the facts that led to the loss of life of a sportsman.
