‘You will be missed’: Omar Abdullah mourns demise of Devender Rana, shares old pictures

Srinagar, Nov 01: Mourning the demise of his former colleague, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that Devender Rana “will be missed”.

Senior BJP leader and Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana passed away last night at a hospital in New Delhi.

Rana parted ways from the National Conference in 2021 and joined BJP. He created waves by winning the Nagrota assembly segment with the highest margin of 30472 votes, defeating National Conference’s Joginder Singh, in the recently concluded assembly elections.

“The terrible news from late last night isn’t really sinking in. I know the last few years have been marked by our differences Devender but I prefer to focus on the fun times we shared together, the excellent work we did together & the memories. You have been taken from us all too soon & will be missed. May your soul rest in peace now DSR. My heart goes out to your family as I struggle to find the words to convey my condolences to them,” Omar said, in a post on X.

The Chief Minister also shared pictures of himself with Rana and Nasir Sogami from 2009.
