Lucknow, April 7: Uttar Pradesh’s Tele-Manas mental health helpline, launched in October 2022 under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, has emerged as a vital support system for people struggling with mental health issues. So far, over 3.45 lakh people have received help through the free and confidential service, which is available round-the-clock.

On average, the helpline receives around 525 calls a day, offering expert counselling through 64 trained professionals across the state.

Four Tele-Manas centers operate from Gorakhpur, Agra, Bareilly, and Varanasi, where callers are provided with initial guidance and referred for further treatment when needed.

Recognised by the Centre as one of the best mental health helpline services in the country, UP’s Tele-Manas ranked third among large states. In 2024–25 alone, the helpline has handled over 2.13 lakh calls. Citizens can access support through helpline numbers 14416 and 1800-891-4416 (toll-free). The Yogi government plans to expand the service further
