New Delhi, Aug 8: Political activist and Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav has expressed serious concerns over alleged large-scale irregularities in the electoral rolls, citing recent evidence presented by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. In a post on X, Yadav, a veteran election analyst and longtime defender of India’s electoral system, said the claims—particularly of around 100,000 bogus votes in a single Karnataka constituency—mark a troubling shift in the credibility of the process. He added that errors in 15–20% of the voter list suggest a deeper malaise.

He further alleged that while such manipulation has gone unnoticed in Maharashtra, similar incidents in Bihar amounted to “daylight robbery.” Calling for accountability, he warned that history would judge the inaction and demanded that the EC respond to the growing concerns raised across states.
