Yoga Day celebrated with enthusiasm in Kargil, Leh

Kargil, June 21: The 10th International Yoga Day 2024 was celebrated with enthusiasm across Ladakh union territory on Friday.  The International Day of Yoga is marked annually on June 21 on a global scale since 2015. To mark the day and raise awareness of the benefits of practicing yoga, yoga enthusiasts gathered early morning at the Bemathang stadium to participate and perform yoga.

In Kargil , The main function held at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Kargil was attended by Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Suhail Ahmed; District Officers of various departments, staff of different departments, SIA, NYK, youth, students from different schools and other concerned officials participated in the yoga session. The program commenced at 6.30 am. with various Asanas performed by the gathering, demonstrating zeal and enthusiasm.

The District Administration Kargil and LAHDC Kargil had made all the arrangements at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Bemathang, Kargil for the celebration of the Yoga Day.

Similar events were held in Leh district. The main function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Leh Santosh Sukhadeve and Superintendent of Police Leh Shruti Arora.
