DC Ganderbal Shyambir said that both convoy and non-convoy batches had arrived and the administration had made all arrangements for the smooth yatra.

He advised the yatris to follow the advisories issued by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), J&K administration and other agencies to avoid any inconvenience and ensure a peaceful yatra.

Using various modes of transport, the yatris coming from different parts of the country started reaching the base camps on Friday evening, ahead of the formal start of the yatra on Saturday morning.

Special prayers are being organised by the SASB to mark the beginning of this year’s yatra at Amarnath Cave shrine on Saturday morning.

Officials said that adequate arrangements including security, health, sanitation, and water supply had been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the yatra.
