YAIKS hosts Heyrath Milan

Jammu, Feb 16: The Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) celebrated the Varshik ‘Heyrath Milan’ ahead of Mahashivratri here under the leadership of YAIKS President Pandit R K Bhat alias Ram Avtar.

A statement of YAIKS issued here said that the theme of celebrating the annual ‘Heyrath Milan’ is to reconnect the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community to their lost roots, promote peace, brotherhood, and harmony, and enlighten the future generation about the significance of Maha Shivaratri festival.

Rajya Sabha Member Gulam Ali Khatana was the chief guest while Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Secretary Grievances Sehrish Asgar, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Arvind Karwani, Justice Basnsi Lal Bhat, SSP Kot Balwal Central Jail Veerinder Bhat, President Bar Association Nirmal Kotwal, President Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries Arun Gupta, and Swami Kumar were the guests of honour.

Eminent singers including Gulzar Ganai, Deepali Wattal, Yaseen Gundpuri, and Shanti Lal Suddha performed at the event besides the young talented singers and artists.

Thousands of community members including men, women, and children participated in the event.
