World Food India 2025 concludes with Rs 1.02 lakh Cr investment commitments
New Delhi, Sep 29: World Food India 2025 concluded in New Delhi on Monday with record investment pledges worth over Rs 1,02,000 crore, marking one of the largest-ever commitments in India’s food processing sector.
The four-day event, hosted at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, positioned India as a rising global hub for food innovation, technology, and sustainable agri-business. The summit facilitated collaborations with academic and research institutions such as NIFTEM-T and NIFTEM-K, supporting technology transfer, food fortification, nutraceuticals, and start-up incubation. It also featured more than 10,500 B2B meetings, 261 government-to-government engagements, and 18,000 reverse buyer-seller interactions, drawing a cumulative footfall of over 95,000 participants.
The event was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Union Ministers Chirag Paswan and Prataprao Jadhav, and Minister of State Ravneet Singh. In his address, the Prime Minister underscored India’s role as a reliable food supplier, highlighting policy initiatives such as 100% FDI, the Production Linked Incentive Scheme, and Mega Food Parks. He also announced credit-linked subsidies worth ₹2,518 crore to 26,000 micro-entrepreneurs under the PMFME scheme.
The CEO Roundtable, co-chaired by Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Chirag Paswan, brought together over 100 leaders from Indian and multinational companies. Discussions focused on sustainable investment, biodegradable packaging, waste valorisation, the blue economy, and logistics reforms. International participation was robust, with delegations from Russia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Maldives, Portugal, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Eswatini, Côte d’Ivoire, and Kuwait exploring new opportunities in agriculture and food processing with Indian counterparts.
More than 40 thematic sessions covered emerging sectors including plant-based foods, pet food, specialty products, and nutraceuticals. The 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit highlighted digital tools for risk management, next-generation regulatory capacity, and nutrition-led approaches to food safety.
Alongside World Food India, the 24th India International Seafood Show was inaugurated by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, focusing on the expansion of seafood exports through industry discussions and buyer-seller interactions. By generating record investment intent, fostering international collaboration, and promoting sustainable practices, World Food India 2025 has reinforced India’s vision of becoming a global leader in agri-food value chains and innovation.
