World Architecture Day celebrated by IIA Srinagar Centre
Srinagar, Oct 9: The World Architecture Day was celebrated by Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Srinagar Centre.
The event highlighted role of architecture in shaping the built environment and preserving Kashmir's rich cultural heritage. The event witnessed participated on prominent and emerging architects from the region, focusing on the unique blend of traditional and modern architectural designs in Kashmir.
Ar. Irshad Majid, Chairman of IIA Srinagar Centre, welcomed the participants, expressing gratitude to the speakers and inviting more architects to join IIA's mission to address challenges and protect the public from unqualified practitioners.
The organisers said sponsors like Jaguar Bath Light and Shree Cements supported the event by showcasing their innovations. The highlight of the event was the Awards Ceremony, which recognised excellence in fields such as conservation, interior design, and green architecture. The event also featured
discussions on the future of architecture in Kashmir, with an emphasis on sustainable and culturally resonant designs.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Ar. Wasim Qadri, providing a platform for networking and idea exchange among the attendees.
