Workshop on visual, performing art held at DPS Budgam
Srinagar, Nov 12: A three day long workshop on visual and performing art was held at Delhi Public school Budgam from 7th November to 9 November.
The workshop offered a new insight and understanding to children of different local schools from district Budgam. It was an opportunity to share knowledge ,ignite creativity and foster a community of like minded individuals. In this festival,seventy students from seven schools got an opportunity to get sensitised about the benefits of creative art and the art integrated education.
It was a collaborative effort of both the Music and the Fine Art Departments. It was a training and transformation programme to provide students with a platform to realise their talent and uplift it.
The various fundamentals of music were sound physics, classical music ,lead instrumentals and rhythmic instruments while in fine arts students were guided in landscape, water colours and poster making etc. It was an initiative for the development of creative expressions among the school students who do not have such facilities and opportunities.
After elaborating the workshop rules and general etiquettes to the students, they were further engaged through step by step instructions.
Principal D. Samual Seelan and the Dean Mehfooz Aslam appreciated the collaborative efforts of the departments and stressed the students to make rigorous efforts to realise their potential . Director Salman Soz appreciated the step and expressed his desire and commitment of organising such type of events on a large scale in near future. Mumtaz un- Nisa Soz, ProVC DPS Budgam graced the occasion and presented prizes to the students.
