Kishtwar, July 7:Few days back the Kishtwar to Paddar road was severely disrupted due to a massive landslide at Nagseni, halting vehicular movement and impacting essential supplies to the Paddar Sub Division.

The alternate road from the Himachal side remained open for essential supplies, but the same were disrupted due to the washing away of Singhrah Bridge-GREF in flash flood in the Sohal area.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav, today trekked to the landslide spot at Nagseni to reach the Paddar side, overseeing the repair of the Singhrah Bridge by GREF Authorities, which was completed within 3 hours in presence of SDM Paddar Amit Kumar, Tehsildar Atholi, DDC Paddar Arpan Singh Rana, and other officials. The road connectivity from Himachal to the Paddar area has now been restored and the Essential supplies loaded in light vehicles have been resumed.

About Kishtwar-Paddar Road, DC Dr Devansh Yadav informed that additional excavators have been mobilized from hydroelectric projects to clear the road at Nagseni on a war footing. The road restoration work continuing day and night is expected to take 2-3 days with the efforts of personnel from GREF and hydroelectric power projects under the supervision of district administration.

“The supply Chain of essential items for the public will not be affected, as it is ensured from the Himachal side,” he added.

Vehicular movement will remain affected until the road is fully restored. The general public is requested to have patience till the completion of the restoration work.
