Words fall short of condoling: Jitendra Singh
Jammu, July 16: Union Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh Thursday said that his words fell “short of condoling and condemning the martyrdom of brave hearts” in the Doda encounter.
In the same breath, he appealed to the people to jointly defeat terrorists and maintain peace and harmony for which Doda had always been known.
Singh represents the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda parliamentary constituency in Lok Sabha.
In his condolence message and condemnation of the terror attack, posted on ‘X’, he wrote, “Deeply disturbed by the reports of armed encounters in the Dessa area of district #Doda in my Lok Sabha constituency. Words fall short of condoling and condemning the martyrdom of our Bravehearts.”
“Let all of us join together to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy and maintain peace and harmony for which Doda has always been known,” he posted.
Earlier on July 13, the union minister, while addressing the public darbar in Kathua, had said that all possible steps were being taken to deal with rising terror incidents in the Jammu region to restore people’s confidence and public order.
Asserting that new strategies were being adopted to tackle terrorism, he had said that these steps would bear fruit soon and normalcy would return within a week.
While warning the local terror facilitators of stern action, the union minister had urged the society to remain vigilant and join the government’s efforts to deal with the menace of terrorism in the region. He said the VDCs were being strengthened to fight terrorists.
