Women excelling in every field of life: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi

Jammu, Mar 10: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today said that women are excelling in every field of life.

According to a press note, she was speaking at a function. Dr Darakhshan chaired a special Santoor recital session at Government Women’s PG College Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The session was organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations ICCR in collaboration with the Aarohi Sangeet Vidhalaya at the college in connection with the International Women’s Week. In her address Dr Darakhshan saidthat this was the golden period for Nari Shakti in India.

“From Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s Beti Padhao Beti Bachao mission to the emancipation and empowerment of the women in India in all fields of life, it was the most favourable time for all of us to defeat the notions of women being incapable of contributing substantially for the society and the country at large. Indian woman are now practically in a commanding position in India,” she said. She threw light on various welfare schemes of the government which are women centric and how these schemes have put the women in the forefront in every stream of life.
