Woman's mysterious death | Rajouri family calls for in-depth probe

Rajouri, Dec 12: The parents and other family members have called for an in-depth probe into the mysterious death of a young housewife in Sanjiote village of Rajouri district who died under mysterious conditions on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Chandani Devi, wife of Joginder Singh alias Ravi of Sanjiote village of Rajouri district.

Police said that the body of the young housewife was found hanging from the ceiling inside the house on Sunday night.

The deceased got married a year and a half year ago, Police said.

Meanwhile, the parents and other family members of the deceased have called for an in-depth probe into the matter, alleging conspiracy into her death.

"Our daughter got married a year and a half ago and was facing domestic violence and harassment since marriage,” said her family members. “Some sittings at the family level were also made to settle the issue but those did not bear any results.”

Her parents said that their daughter died under mysterious conditions but they had no doubt that her husband and her in-laws must have conspired that resulted in her death.

Police said that the investigation of the matter was going on under CrPC 174 and questioning of some family members was also going on.
