Woman teacher killed in Akhnoor accident

Jammu, Feb 24: A woman Saturday was killed when her two-wheeler collided with another two-wheeler coming from opposite direction in Akhnoor in Jammu district.

Police officials said that the accident occurred when the deceased – a teacher in Army School Akhnoor, identified as Antu Mehta, wife of Gaurav Mehta, resident of Ward Number 9, Akhnoor, was on way to her school this morning.

“While she was crossing the old bridge on the way to Ambaran, her two-wheeler had a head-on-collision with another two-wheeler, on the way from Ambaran to Akhnoor. While the woman died on the spot, another scooterist and the pillion-rider too sustained injuries in the collision. They were referred to Government Medical College Jammu hospital after first-aid,” they stated.

The injured youth were identified as Rajat Kumar and Abhi Kumar, both residents of Ambaran, Akhnoor.
