Jammu, Dec 14: Police in Udhampur stated to have arrested a woman kingpin of a narcotics smuggling racket from Jammu on Sunday.

Police stated that while investigating FIR No 386/2025 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur, a team conducted a follow-up (backward linkage) operation and arrested a woman kingpin involved in the case.

Earlier, on November 7, 2025, a team of Police Station Udhampur arrested a drug peddler namely Aditya Gupta, son of Navneet Gupta resident of Adarsh Colony, Udhampur and recovered heroin from his possession near Subash Stadium, Udhampur.

“During the course of further investigation of the case, the involvement of another accused in the narcotics supply chain came to light,” Police said.

Acting promptly on the leads so developed, a police team of Udhampur led by DySP Prob Divya Kesar, arrested Geeta Devi, resident of Street number 1, Bhagatpura, Phagwara, Punjab, at present Rajiv Nagar, Narwal in Jammu.

“Further investigation is underway to identify additional forward and backward linkages in the drug network,” said Police.
