Woman delivers baby on roadside in Kupwara, Inquiry committee constituted
Kupwara, Feb 22: The district administration of Kupwara has constituted a three-member committee to inquire into the alleged delivery case of a pregnant woman on a roadside in the Kalaroos area of the district, an official said Thursday.
An official communiqué in this regard by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Ayushi Sudan said that a video clip on account of delivery of a pregnant woman on the roadside at Kalaroos was circulated on the social media platforms on February 21, 2024.
“Allegations have been levied on departments concerned for maintaining a lackadaisical approach vis-à-vis ensuring timely snow clearance and provision of necessary health services,” said the communiqué. “To ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the unfortunate situation and for fixing the responsibility of negligence, if any, a three-member committee headed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Lolab has been constituted for conducting an in-depth inquiry into the incident.”
The committee, which includes Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Tehsildar Kupwara, and ARA of DC Office Kupwara has been asked to furnish a factual report within seven days.
