Within 6 months central political parties will request us for talks: Er Rashid

Bandipora, Sep 28: Member of Parliament (MP) and Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Er Abdul Rashid today said that within six months the political parties at centre will request the Kashmiri leadership for talks.

He was addressing an election rally in support of his party candidate Prince Parvez.

" Some people are begging to the central government leaders for talks. We do not need to beg for talks. I am telling you, if Modi Ji, Amit Shah Ji, Rahul Gandhi, and every political party do not approach you barefoot for talks within six to eight months, I will change my name," Rashid said.

He said, “We repeat Modi's slogan ‘Daro Mat Darao Mat’ (don't be afraid, don't scare others). But Rashid urged the PM Modi to resolve the Kashmir issue.

"I will tell him Kashmiri children are not stone pelters, but scholars, doctors, and engineers and I have made them to take an oath that they will not resort to stone pelting," AIP Chief said.

He added, "For that PM Modi too will have to respond and come to the table and talk to all the stakeholders."

Rashid stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's claim of providing laptops to the youth will not work anymore noting that the youth in Kashmir were already using high-end phones and gadgets.

"We don't need your laptop. Keep it to yourself," Rashid said adding, " Give these laptops to Sajad Lone, Altaf Bukhari, and Usman Majid."
