Srinagar, Sep 09: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today debunked the wild propaganda raised by NC leader Dr Farooq Abdullah holding BJP responsible for fear among Hindus.

Chugh, who is also the party incharge for J&K and Ladakh, said Hindus in J&K know the role of Abdullahs snd Muftis when extreme brutalities were committed on them and Abdullahs and Muftis were the mute spectators.

He said Abdullahs and Muftis turned a blind eye when lakhs of Hindus had to leave the valley in the face of extremist violence. "Where were Abdullahs then?, Chugh questioned.

When asked about the allegations by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti that the AIP party is a proxy for the BJP, Chugh dismissed the charges as baseless and figment of her imagination.

He said that “the PDP and NC have no agenda for the welfare of J&K and no plan to work for the betterment of the people in the future. Let them go through our ‘Sankalp Patra’ (Manifesto) and then speak,” he added.

When questioned about Farooq Abdullah’s statement that the NC will never accept the concept of BJP’s ‘Vishisht Bharat’ and his allegation that the BJP is instilling fear in voters, Tarun Chugh responded, “The high voter turnout in the recent Lok Sabha Elections, the restoration of democracy at grassroots levels, a 75% decline in terrorist activities, and a significant decrease in stone-pelting and organized strikes post-2022 are examples of the peace and democracy restored by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Our party is committed to peace and progress in the region. It is not expected that the NC would support Bharat being Vishwaguru, and we cannot see any nationalistic view from the NC and their leaders. While the BJP speaks of nationalism, harmony, and national integration, the growing popularity and foothold of the BJP across the country exemplify how people have wholeheartedly accepted the BJP and its policies, and it is growing day by day. The BJP’s electoral success can be attributed to its policies on economic development, welfare schemes, and national security. Being the world’s largest democratic party and having elected our Prime Minister Modi for a third term speaks of the choice people of our country have made. This is not out of fear but out of the love, affection and trust people have in their leader. Only BJP can drive the country on the path of development and welfare of its citizens.”

When asked about an ex-Sarpanch in Ganderbal, allegedly acting on behalf of Omar Abdullah, and  threatened people by saying, “The person who does not support the National Conference will be killed,” Tarun Chugh condemned this and accused Omar Abdullah for spreading terror among voters.

He criticized Omar Abdullah for diverting the election narrative by questioning Afzal Guru’s execution, which he said proves that the National Conference has no real issues to address, and this shows the pathetic state of the Abdullahs and their lack of an election agenda.

Tarun Chugh condemned Rahul Gandhi for praising China’s manufacturing capabilities during his US visit, calling him a “desh drohi” (traitor) who lets down his own country on foreign soil. He further stated, “Rahul Gandhi’s actions are always against India and anti-national. It is expected that he will do such things. Rahul Gandhi should note that the country has progressed with the Make In India initiative and we have become the world’s largest manufacturing hub. Today, the country is a leading manufacturer and exporter of mobile phones, toys, and other essential goods. We are now leaders in defense manufacturing and exports. In every sector, we are leading and our country will be the world’s third-largest economy by 2047 under the vision of Viksit Bharat.”

He further accused the Congress and National Conference of misleading the public and having no roadmap for the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
