“Today I want to say only one thing. My cap, my turban, and my honour are in your hands,” an emotional Abdullah said appealing to party workers after filing a nomination for the Ganderbal assembly seat.  “Today I am requesting you with my hands folded to reach out to every door for my success in elections.”

He urged the NC workers to hold a single rope and keep faith in Allah to achieve success.

“If we hold a single rope, and keep our firm belief in Allah, success is surely ours,” Abdullah said.

When he removed the cap from his head and appealed to party workers to respect his honour in the assembly polls, the meeting reverberated with pro-NC slogans while some party workers broke down in tears.

Abdullah said that Ganderbal had ensured his win either as a Member of Parliament or as an MLA.

“Ganderbal has ensured and elected me to the Parliament thrice and once as MLA,” he said expressing hope that people would repose their faith in him.
