Winter vacations for Jammu summer zone schools extended

Jammu, Jan 4: Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) Thursday extended the winter vacations for Jammu summer zone schools by two days, in view of inclement weather conditions.

“The winter vacation is hereby extended up to January 6, 2024, in respect of all government and private recognized schools, falling in summer zone of Jammu division, in view of inclement weather conditions,” Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma ordered, while referring to order No 1354-DSEJ of 2023 dated December 18, 2023.

“Any default on part of the Head of the schools or teaching staff in observance of this schedule shall attract action under Rules,” the order read.

Earlier on December 18, DSEJ had ordered ten-day winter vacation with effect from December 26, 2023 to January 4, 2024 in all government and recognized private schools of the summer zone of Jammu division.

DSEJ had also directed that all teachers would “remain available on demand for any online guidance of students during vacation period.”
