Winter vacations extended in Jammu summer zone schools till Jan 14

Jammu, Jan 11: Winter vacations in schools falling under the summer zone of the Jammu division have been extended till January 14, officials said on Sunday.

Director School Education Jammu, Naseem Choudhary, said the decision to extend the vacations was taken following directions from the Education Minister, keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions.

The extension applies to all government and recognised private schools in the summer zone areas of the Jammu division. Earlier, schools were scheduled to reopen on Monday, but the continuing cold conditions and fog prompted the authorities to prolong the winter break.

Officials said further instructions regarding the reopening of schools would be issued if required, depending on weather conditions in the coming days. [KNT]
