Winter vacations announced for schools in Kargil

Kargil, Nov 28: The authorities have announced the winter vacations for all the government and private schools in Kargil district of Ladakh Union Territory.

The winter vacations upto class 8th will commence from December 4 while as vacations for higher classes excluding Class 10th and 12th will commence from December 18 till February end.

A meeting with regard to declaration of winter vacation in government and private schools of Kargil district was convened under the chairmanship of Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon in his office chamber on Tuesday.

All Executive Councilor’s LAHDC, Kargil, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Chief Education Officer, Kargil and Deputy Chief Education Officer, Sankoo attended the meeting. “After thorough discussion and keeping in view the weather condition and the health issues of students into consideration, it has been unanimously decided that the winter vacation will be declared in government/ private educational institutions,” CEC LAHDC Kargil Dr Mohammad Jaffer said. “ Upto 8th class winter vacation shall commence from 4th December 2023 to February end . For higher classes excluding class 10th and 12th winter vacation shall commence from 18th December to ending February 2024. The same has also been conveyed to the Principal Secretary School Education Department, Union Territory of Ladakh,” CEC said.
