Winter vacations announced for Kashmir schools | Details here

Srinagar, Nov 25: The Jammu & Kashmir School Education Department on Tuesday issued the winter vacation schedule for all government and recognised private schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division and the winter-zone areas of Jammu Division.

According to Government Order No. 665-JK (Edu) of 2025, the vacations will be observed as follows:

Pre-primary (Balvatika): Nov 26, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026

Classes 1 to 8: Dec 1, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026

Classes 9 to 12: Dec 11, 2025 to Feb 22, 2026

The order further mandates that all teaching faculty must remain available for academic activities during the vacation period. Teachers are required to report back on February 20, 2026 to prepare for the reopening of schools.

The government warned that any violation of the schedule by heads of institutions or teaching staff will attract strict action under rules.
