Will make Gulmarg best performing constituency in terms of education: Farooq Shah
Srinagar, Feb 27: The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and senior National Conference leader Farooq Ahmad Shah Thursday said that Gulmarg will be made one of the best constituencies in terms of education.
Addressing a gathering of students during the inauguration of SKIE branch at Raj Bagh here, Farooq Shah said that education forms the foundation of any nation and it should be made a priority to make a progressive nation.
“If you want to evaluate any nation, you should assess its education system. Strong education system is the prerequisite to have a strong nation. No nation can survive if its education system is weak,” he said.
He further said that as MLA Gulmarg, he made education first agenda during the review meetings held in his constituency.
“In my five year’s tenure, I will ensure that Gulmarg becomes one of the best constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of education,” he said.
Farooq Shah said that special focus was being given on establishment of kindergarten schools to make the foundational stage of education strong.
“Kindergarten forms the foundation of the education system and our focus is to make our foundation strong to achieve excellence in the education system,” he said.
He further asked the students to focus on their education without any disruptions.
“You should focus on your education and become a human being with knowledge instead of limiting yourself to NEET and JEE. At SKIE, Sky is the limit for you,” he said.
He showered praises for SKIE management for providing exposure to the students and producing numerous engineers and doctors under his guidance.
“In the past, education was the first hit in J&K but despite going through that tough phase, the coaching centres contributed a lot in the education sector,” he said.
President Private School Association J&K (PSAJK) G N Var also addressed the gathering and urged the students to make best use of technologies to achieve excellence.
“Instead of keeping your vision confined to becoming a government servant, you should aim high and contribute to society in different sectors,” he said.
