Kargil, Jan 28: The new Superintendent of Police (SP) Leh today said that she will focus on prevention and eradication of drug abuse.
She added that she is committed to ensure safety of women and maintain overall law and order in the district. Shruti Arora, a 2018 batch IPS Officer of the AGMUT cadre took over the charge from SSP PD Nitya consequent upon her transfer to UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Shruti Arora was earlier posted as Additional Superintendent of Police, Leh.
Talking to Greater Kashmir, Shruti Arora said that she will continue the good work done by her predecessor. She said that her focus will be to maintain the Law and order besides prevention and eradication of drug abuse in the district. " I will focus on maintaining the law and order in the district and work on women empowerment and ensure the safety of women in particular. Besides prevention and eradication of the drug abuse will remain priority, " SSP said. She further said that Leh has always been a peaceful district with less crime and sought the cooperation of the people in taking it forward and ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for everyone here.
" I will look forward to meet and interact with the people and with the cooperation of the people the Leh district will be able to maintain peace and safe environment,” SP said.
Shruti Arora, an IPS (AGMUT: 2018) officer hailed the efforts and work by her predecessor IPS officer PD Nitya who has now been posted as SSP Doda .
