Will contest assembly election as independent candidate: Haji Farooq

Kupwara, Aug 22: Days after parting ways from Peoples Conference (PC), Vice District Development Council Chairman (DDC) Kupwara Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir said that he will contest assembly election from Lolab as an independent candidate.

Farooq was addressing workers gathering at his residence in Khurhama area of Lolab. To a question about the reason of parting ways from Peoples Conference (PC), he said that due to ideological differences with the party leadership, he was compelled to say good bye to the party. "After consistent deliberations with the people of Lolab I decided to take a separate way," he added.

He said that he has always been on ground for the people which paved the way for him to represent the people in District Council and hoped that this time people of Lolab will give him a chance to represent them in Legislative Assembly.
