Anantnag, Nov 28: The Wildlife Protection Department, South Division Bijbehara, captured two black bears alive in separate swift operations carried out in Anantnag district on Friday, officials said.

The first bear was captured by the Control Room Achabal from Soyan Sagram, Kokernag, following repeated sightings that had created panic among residents.

In a separate operation, officials from the Seer Control Room successfully captured another black bear from Yall village of Haptnod, ensuring the safety of the local population.

Both operations were conducted under the directions of Wildlife Warden South, Mr. Sajad Ahmad Bhat.

Local residents from both areas appreciated the Wildlife Department for their timely and effective response, which helped avert potential threats to human life.

Further procedures are underway, while both were released back to its natural habitat, officials added. (KNC)
