An official said that this is not the only incident where wild animals have attacked and killed livestock in the area, "In fact such attacks have witnessed a surge in recent years" he said. The affected farmer has appealed to district administration and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed to provide him compensation so that he can once again buy sheep and earn his livelihood. Locals have voiced concern over the rising frequency of wildlife attacks, which have caused substantial losses to villagers across the Mawer area, which depend on livestock for their livelihood.
