White wrath in Gurez

Bandipora, May 19: Following the night of fast winds and thunderstorms, parts of north Kashmirís Bandipora district were battered by afternoon hailstorms on Monday.

Locals in Onagam and several other villages said that the heavy hail continued for several minutes, devastating the crops in these areas.

Other areas in Bandipora also received heavy rains followed by hail.

In Gurez too, where agriculture activities are at their prime, the hailstorm surprised the locals.

Ajaz Ahmad from Gurezís Dawar said inches of hail turned Gurez white.
