Srinagar, Aug 04: The Zabarwan Park in Srinagar today played host to an exhilarating cycling event, the Cyclothon, which saw a remarkable turnout of 250 participants.

The event was organised by Sehan Shetty, founder of Zabarvan, in collaboration with Guinness World Record holder Adil Teli.

The Cyclothon featured three distinct race categories catering to various age groups and skill levels. The Men's MTB & ATB race covered a challenging 26 km route, while the Junior Men's and Women's events spanned 20 km. The youngest cyclists participated in a 1 km race designed specifically for kids.

In the Men's MTB category, Mohmiss Ismail Wani clinched the top spot, followed by Adil Altaf and Akash Bhat. The Women's race saw Yumnna Parvaiz emerge victorious, with Farah Ahad and Nabil Khan securing second and third places respectively. Mashooq Maqbool led the ATB category, trailed by Bilal Ahmad Dar and Waheed Ahmad Ganaie. The Kids' race was won by Aman Gulzar, with Usmaan Aslam and Mehraan Nazir rounding out the top three. In the Men's Junior category, Jahangir Ahanger took first place, followed by Arslan Ahmad and Tajamul Rashid.

The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Delhi-based Span Foundation, which provided the prizes. Additional support came from co-sponsors Outdoor Goats, Flexveda, T-rex, and J&K Tourism.

Zabarvan, the event organiser, is a Delhi-based company specialising in mountain sports equipment manufacturing. Beyond producing gear, the company is committed to nurturing athletic talent. They sponsor athletes and offer comprehensive training programs that focus on physical and mental fitness, as well as overall well-being. This holistic approach aims to prepare athletes to represent India at international competitions.
