No respite as Kashmir continues to sizzle, temperatures shatter records
After a brief dip in day temperatures, nighttime heat continues to grip Kashmir, with Srinagar tying its all-time highest minimum temperature for July at 25.2 degrees Celsius (77.4 Fahrenheit), weather officials said Sunday.
The minimum was 6.2 degrees above normal, matching the record set on July 21, 1988. Elsewhere in the valley, unusually high night temperatures were reported, compounding discomfort amid ongoing dry conditions. Qazigund, the gateway to the valley, recorded a minimum of 23.1°C — just shy of its all-time record of 23.4°C set a day earlier. Pahalgam’s low of 20.0°C neared its July record of 20.2°C, while Kokernag tied its record at 22.6°C, set earlier this month.

Adani Enterprises announces Rs 1,000 crore NCDs offering up to 9.30%, issue opens July 9
Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) on Sunday announced the launch of its second public issuance of secured, rated and listed redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCD) worth Rs 1,000 crore.
The issue opens on July 9 and closes on July 22 (with an option of early closure or extension), offering up to 9.30 per cent per annum. The NCDs offer competitive yields compared to similarly rated NCDs and fixed deposits and are proposed to be listed on the BSE and the NSE. The proposed NCDs have been rated “Care AA-; Stable” and “(ICRA) AA- (Stable)”, according to the company.
EC relaxes voter document rules in Bihar amid electoral roll revision, opposition criticism
The Election Commission has eased documentation rules for voters in Bihar amid its ongoing special intensive revision of electoral rolls, days after opposition parties criticised the exercise as “votebandi.” In an advertisement published in Hindi newspapers, the Bihar Chief Electoral Officer stated that voters can now submit filled enumeration forms without attaching the required documents, which may be provided later. The move is intended to facilitate wider participation in the ongoing revision, ahead of the state assembly elections.
