Weather to remain wet today as weak WD affects several J-K areas: MeT
Srinagar, Nov 11: The meteorological department Monday said, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain mostly dry till 23rd of this month.
Speaking to Greater Kashmir, Director Meteorological department Kashmir Mukhtar Ahmad said, a weak Western Disturbance (WD) caused light snowfall over higher reaches of Gurez today.
There might be another weak WD on 15th and 16th of this month, which will probably result in light snowfall over the higher reaches of central and northern Kashmir. Except this, Ahmad said the weather is most likely expected to be dry till 23 November.
He said, the mist and the fog will be constant for now, which he said would result in poor visibility especially during morning and evening hours.
He cautioned drivers and urged them to drive with outmost care to avoid accidents.
Although harvesting is almost complete, Ahmad said, many farmers are still harvesting and should continue to do so before the weather gets inclement.
