WCWS organises medical camp for children
Jammu, Nov 21: We Care Welfare Society (WCWS) Jammu, a registered self-funded organisation, Tuesday conducted a free medical camp for children, besides an ortho and general health check-up camp, at Vidyapeeth Public School in village Khadergal, Bari Brahmana in district Samba.
Dr Arvind Sharma, a senior physician from Medanta hospital, Gurugram, along with his team of para-medical staff, examined patients vis-à-vis general health related problems. ECG, BP, Blood Sugar testing facilities were provided at the camp.
Dr Radika Uppal MD (Paediatrics), Dr B N (Paediatrics Cardiology) and Dr Sonam Chalotra, MD (Paediatrics), examined children. They also advised their parents for taking greater care in maintaining hygiene, especially frequent washing of hands before taking meals and use of clean water for drinking.
Dr Sham Jurangal, senior ortho surgeon of Swami Vivekanand Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla, Jammu examined patients with bones, joints and pain related problems. Free medicines were provided to over 200 patients examined in the camp.
Prof M Sadiq Nargal, chairman, WCWS, thanked the entire team of V P School including Director Surinder Sharma, Principal Kumud Rekhi, teachers and helping staff for assisting in this medical camp. He also expressed his gratitude to Medanta Hospital, Gurugram and Swami Vivekanand Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla, Jammu for providing specialized doctors, paramedical staff and testing facilities for this camp.
He stated that WCWS, since its inception from 2019, had been organising medical camps on a regular basis for the benefit of downtrodden and underprivileged BPL people, especially in the rural areas.
