Waterlogging at PHC Chogal leaves patients marooned

Kupwara, Feb 22:  The patient care was badly hit on Thursday at Primary Health Centre Chogal due to waterlogging in the premises of the hospital.

The residents showed strong resentment against authorities for failing to ensure a proper drainage system in and around the hospital thus giving tough time to the patients.

“This is not for the first time that water has accumulated in the premises of PHC Chogal, but every time when there is little downpour, water gets accumulated in the premises due to which patient care gets badly hit,” a local said.

The residents said that they have to wade through the waters to reach the hospital but the concerned authorities were doing nothing to address the issue. “Due to water logging, most of the patients prefer to look for other alternatives. We have been facing this situation for the last several years,” they added.

The residents appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan to look into the matter so that the hardships being faced by people may end.
