Water shortage hits Nawab Bazar

Srinagar, May 26: Residents of Syed Hamidpora Nawab Bazar area of Downtown have complained of an acute shortage of drinking water supply for long time.

A delegation from the area said that they are not receiving regular piped water supply and face immense problems. “We have to fetch water in containers in vehicles from adjoining areas in this scorching heat. We have been from long time apprised of concerned PHE officials about the matter but no action is being taken to restore the water supply,” they said. “We make a fervent appeal to Chief Engineer PHE to direct the concerned officials to look into the issue and restore the water supply,” they said.
