Water scarcity hits Rajouri town parts
Rajouri, Nov 8: The inhabitants of ward number 2 of Rajouri town today alleged water scarcity in their area.
They blocked the main road staging a protest against Jal Shakti Department. Protesters kept main road from Gujjar Mandi Chowk to Panja Chowk blocked for some period after which police teams rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
As per locals, there is acute shortage of water in ward 2 of Rajouri town and that they get affected by the problem.
They said that there is no other source of water supply in the locality. The residents depend upon on water supply scheme from Jal Shakti Department." We knocked all the doors of Jal Shakti Department officers but of no avail. The concerned pay no attention towards the issue ," said locals. The protest caused long traffic jamming, congestion on main road from Gujjar Mandi Chowk to Panja Chowk.
