“I have no reports about the decline in the student enrollment in the colleges. I will discuss the issue with the department in the review meeting,” she said.

Sakina Itoo however said that it was a challenging job at this point of time as there are so many difficulties faced by the departments be it health, social welfare or education department.

“In last 10 years, so many things have happened and serious efforts are needed to bring everything on track. It is not impossible for us as we are hopeful that we will do it and address all the issues,” she said while referring to the dearth of basic infrastructure in government schools across J&K.

About the issues and difficulties faced by the student enrolled in outside colleges under PMSSS, the minister said that she has already received the reports of some incidents and the same will be discussed with the department.

“I have already received some information about the issues being faced by the students enrolled under PMSSS. I have scheduled a review meeting with the Higher Education Department in which this issue will be examined,” she said.
