Waskhura residents rue pathetic road condition
Residents of Waskhura, Handwara, have accused the authorities of failing to repair their road, which has made life difficult for locals.
They reported that the road is riddled with potholes, making travel a back-breaking ordeal.
Fayaz Ahmad, a local, told Greater Kashmir, "There can’t be much greater injustice to our village, as we are only 1.5 kilometers away from the main town of Handwara, yet we are deprived of basic amenities. From drinking water to road connectivity, we are lagging behind."
"Currently, while macadamization is taking place in various areas of Kupwara district, it seems that our road will not be macadamized this year either," added another resident, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar.
The residents stated that they have brought this issue to the attention of the concerned department numerous times, but nothing concrete has been done, leaving them in agony and despair.
