War on Drugs | Police attach property worth Rs 50 lakh of drug peddler in Baramulla

Srinagar, May 2: Police in Baramulla attached property (9 marlas land and double storied residential house worth Rs 50 lakh) belonging to a drug peddler on Thursday.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that the property belonged to Shabir Ahmad Sofi, son of Abdul Khaliq of Mazhama Magam, Budgam.

It said that action was taken under Sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No 05/2024 under Sections 8/20, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act of Police Station Kunzer.

The statement said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the investigation conducted by Police. It said that during the last four months, Police attached illegal properties worth Rs 5. 5 crore of 16 notorious drug peddlers in Baramulla.
