War on Drugs Police attach property of drug peddler in Awantipora

Srinagar, Nov 13: Police in Awantipora attached one double-storied residential house valuing approximately Rs 12 lakh belonging to a drug peddler Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo, son of late Abdul Rehman Makroo of Gulzarpora Awantipora under Section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that the residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during investigation and enquiry was conducted by Police in Awantipora.

It said that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner. The drug peddler is involved in Case FIR No 20/2017 and 30/2022 of Police Station Awantipora. The drug peddler is currently detained under the PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
