Waheed Para reviews functioning of District Hospital Pulwama
Srinagar, Aug 2: Member Legislative Assembly from Pulwama, Waheed ur Rehman Para, undertook a detailed visit to District Hospital Pulwama to assess the overall functioning of the healthcare services being provided to the people. During his visit, he interacted with patients, held discussions with doctors and other medical staff to understand the operational challenges, and reviewed the overall functioning of the hospital, including infrastructure, equipment, and availability of essential facilities.
Speaking to media during the visit, Waheed ur Rehman Para expressed his concern over the existing state of healthcare infrastructure in Pulwama.
He noted that while there are significant shortcomings in medical facilities and resources, an equally pressing challenge is the excess workload on doctors and healthcare staff. “The medical fraternity in our district is working under pressure. The shortage of manpower combined with infrastructural lacunas is making it difficult for them to meet the growing demands of patients,” he said.
He stressed that both issues need to be addressed simultaneously. Para further stated that his office will take up the issues of medical care with the health department and ensured of every possible help.
