Srinagar, Feb 2: Jammu and Kashmir clinched a remarkable Ranji Trophy victory over Baroda, powered by the brilliant performances of wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan and off-spinner Sahil Lotra.

J&K’s young wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan played a crucial role in the team’s win over Baroda, earning him the Player of the Match award.

The 23-year-old, who debuted in 2018, displayed exceptional skill with both the bat and gloves.

In the first inning, Wadhawan scored 71 runs (94 balls, 8 fours), stabilising J&K after early setbacks.

In the second inning, he went on to score 84 runs (122 balls, 11 fours), anchoring the lower order and stitching a 50-run last-wicket partnership with Sunil Kumar, helping J&K post a formidable target of 365.

In wicketkeeping prowess, he claimed 4 crucial catches in Baroda’s first innings. Leading from the front with the bat, he scored 155 runs in the match.

Sahil Lotra: The Off-Spin Wizard Who Dismantled Baroda

Sahil Lotra, the 26-year-old off-spinner, produced a match-winning bowling performance, leaving Baroda’s batting in tatters.

In the first innings, he got 4/26 in 25.1 overs (11 maidens, economy 1.04) with key wickets in his bag in the shape of Nitya Pandya, Atith Sheth, Vishnu Solanki, and Bhargav Bhatt.

In the second innings, he got 7/75 in 26 overs (economy 2.9), picking wickets of Nitya Pandya, Shivalik Sharma, Shashwat Rawat, Mahesh Pithia, Ninad Rathwa, Krunal Pandya, and Mitesh Patel.

In the match, he got 11 wickets for 101 runs—a career-defining spell that proved him as J&K’s bowling spearhead.
